The Board, staff and members of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke would like to offer our sincere congratulations, to Jaritza Rios, our Club’s 2007 Youth of the Year.
Jaritza is an eighteen year old Holyoke High School Senior, who has worked very hard throughout her high school career. In addition to her studies, Jaritza has been a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke since 2002. She has participated in our Keystone Club (a nationally chartered leadership and service organization sponsored by Boys & Girls Clubs of America), was invited to be a Peer Leader, Junior Staff, Technology Staff, and Torch Club (a small-group leadership development program, targeting youth ages 11 to 13) Advisor. She has been exemplary in each of these roles.
Jaritza has a reputation for being dependable, trustworthy, compassionate and proactive. Jaritza is one of five children and will be the first in her family to attend college. She aspires to attend Westfield State College and pursue a career in education. Please join us in wishing her well as her candidacy for Regional and ultimately National Youth of the Year continues.
