Boys & Girls Club honors youths
Youth of the Year awards given out Kara Dominick
LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - They are recognized as upstanding members of the community, and they're barely old enough to drive. Wednesday the Boys and Girls Clubs of western Massachusetts honored their 2010 Youths of the Year.
The members are recognized for their ability to achieve personal growth, develop leadership skills and identify as positive role models. "I've been in the ROTC program at Dean Technical for two years already. I like it because of the respect and discipline we get," said Betzaida Martinez of Holyoke.
Bo Sullivan, Westfield Boys & Girls Club Board of Director, told 22News."They take care, the kinda of build relationships inside the clubs and make sure they're on the right path the same things they got when they were youths and they got brought up through the clubs."
Wednesday's awards were presented by the event sponsors, Comcast Cable and Ninety Nine restaurants, who has donated over 500-thousand dollars to the program over the last 13 years.
