On Wednesday, April 20, 2011 our youth had the opportunity to participate in the 6th annual “Business Seminar for the Youth” in Springfield, MA. The seminar focuses on 7-14 year olds and educates them on the basics of banking, ecommerce and solar robotics. It provided some real world experiences such as opening a bank account and creating a website.
We had the opportunity to speak with two of the participants about their experience.
When asked about favorite part of the seminar, Jacksiel Colon said, “We Got to experience how electricity was made and also learned more about solar panels and robotics. We also learned about making good decisions in business through business games. The games taught us about customer services and gave real world experiences we developed business plans and websites.”
Elijah Moquin added, “I liked being able to see the inside of MassMutual Insurance and going to WWLP building we walked inside where they broadcasted the weather and took pictures.”
