On July 7 - July 10th , Taivon Morales of Holyoke, age 16, traveled to Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA to attend the 2011 Manning Passing Academy (MPAL the premier offensive skills camp in the nation.

The purpose of the MPA is to create an environment of greater understanding of and the proficiency with, the fundamentals, techniques, skills, motivation, and sportsmanship necessary for success at the individual offensive skill positions in the sport of football. The Manning Passing Academy is owned and operated by the first family of football: Archie, Cooper, Peyton and Eli Manning Taivon who is a junior at Holyoke High School and is on the varsity football team, spent 4 days in Louisiana perfecting his skills as a wide receiver. He also participated in a variety of forums on character building presented by college coaches, pro players and college players.

The forums provided an interactive setting with high profile college players from every division and numerous conferences answering questions provided by high school student-athletes. Proceeds from the 2011 Annual Golf tournament were used to sponsor Taivon, a longtime member of the club. Located at 70 Nick Cosmos Way, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Holyoke provides program opportunities for up to 4,000 boys and girls each year. The Club is open Monday-Friday. Individuals interested in donating or youngsters interested in joining the Club, can contact Eileen Cavanaugh at, 413-534-7366 or visit www.hbgc.org.
