2014 Youth of the Year – Sonya Rivera

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke is honored to announce the winner of its 2014 Youth of the Year award – Sonya Rivera. The  prestigious award is HBGC’s highest honor, recognizing teens from the Club who work hard, invest in themselves and their communities and have their sights set on achieving a GREAT FUTURE. Sonya has been a member of the Club for 11 years giving her time, energy and creativity to her fellow members and her community. Like many of her Boys & Girls Club peers, Sonya dreams big.

Upon graduating from high school, she plans to go to college with the ultimate goal of becoming a paramedic. Sonya Rivera is a shining example to her peers with her sound character, leadership skills and  eagerness to give back. As Youth of the Year, Sonya will represent The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke as Youth of the Year at the statewide competition in the spring.
