CAMP SAFETY

As Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke reopens, there will be changes, safety precautions and new procedures to follow every day. Since COVID-19 pandemic forced statewide business and school closures in March, we have been working in collaboration and with direction from state and local health departments operating as an Essential Worker Childcare Program. The Club continues to react and implement health and safety changes immediately as soon as the guidance is released. Health and safety regulations will significantly impact how our clubs will operate and the number of youth we will be able to serve as we reopen. Please review the following information carefully.COVID19 STEM

  • SAFETY PROCEDURES YOU CAN EXPECT

Safety is the number one priority of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Holyoke, and we are doing everything possible to keep children, staff, and volunteers protected from the COVID-19 virus. We continue to monitor all updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Massachusetts State Department of Health, Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, and City of Holyoke Public Health for updated information. We are advising all staff, families, and youth to take precautions recommended by the Center for Disease Control.

  • Group Sizes

In compliance with guidelines from our state and local health departments, Clubs will operate with a minimum of 1:10 ratio (one staff members to every ten youth), and majority of program activities will have two staff members in rooms. Groups will stay in separate program areas, and Club staff will be utilizing masks as well as gloves when handling food. Youth will receive an overview of safety information daily, as well as strict guidelines for hand washing and sanitation procedures.

  • Check-in and drop-off procedures

Each day all members, staff, family and guests entering the building will be required to comply with check-in safety measures, including but not limited to temperature checks, health screening, and sanitation procedures.
